民国美术及美术展览民国时期美术一般指视觉艺术或者造型艺术,包含绘画、书法、雕塑、建筑等艺术。蔡元培在《美展特刊》前言中说:“古人恒言礼乐,而今人恒言科学、美术,美术之广义可以包音乐,而其狭义则我国恒言书画,而欧洲恒言建筑雕刻图画。”书法划归到美术之中,很少单独使用,通常与绘画并举,称为书画。民国时期的美术社团、美术展览、美术杂志等现代产物大多数内容以书画为主,或者以书画命名。
