A method for the determination of antimony, arsenic, bismuth, cadmium, cobalt and silver in polymetallic sulphide ores, fine, residue and related materials is presented. After direct decomposition with water, various elements were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry with air-acetylene flame, while arsenic was measured with the flame of diazocine. A calibration plot of the solution formulated in 3.5 M hydrochloric acid is plotted. No interference observed. This method has been successfully used to determine these six elements in polymetallic sulphide minerals that contain large amounts of copper, lead, zinc, or iron. Some of the Canadian Bureau of Standards and Materials for Materials obtained by this method have the same results as the certified values for the antimony, arsenic, bismuth, cadmium, cobalt and silver in the ores and concentrates. In general, the relative standard deviation is ≤3%.
