五月初的一个早晨,内蒙古呼伦贝尔盟文物站的李站长,为了筹办古代史展览,风尘仆仆地赶到中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所,希望我们能对当地出土的扎赉诺尔人的面貌复原工作给予援助。我们愉快地接受了这一要求。扎赉诺尔人在标本贮藏室里,我们查看了所有的扎赉诺尔人的化石材料。其中2号头骨的奇特形态引起了大家的注意。它有着平而斜长的前额,圆而尖的后脑勺朝后上方耸立着,简直就象大半个哈密瓜,又像是个橄榄球(图1)。
One morning in early May, Li, chief of the Hulun Buir Meng Cultural Relics Station in Inner Mongolia, rushed to the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of Chinese Academy of Sciences in preparation for the exhibition of ancient history and hoped that we would be able to help the local Zharenuoer Face restoration work to give assistance. We have happily accepted this request. Zanzuo Noor In the specimen storage room, we examined all the zanzuo noer’s fossil material. One of the strange shape of the skull 2 attracted everyone’s attention. It has a flat and oblique forehead, round and pointed head back up above the tower, just like most of the cantaloupe, like a rugby (Figure 1).
