明代山东为适应化民成俗和科举的需要,曾广泛设立社学。社学曾遍布乡村和大小城镇,虽然教学条件有些差异,但是每处社学都聘请至少一位有德才的人为社师,学校内主要以圣人的著述为教材,并制定有较为严格的规章制度,它既为府州县学提供了大量合格的生员,又由于它存续的时间较长,覆盖的范围很广,对于当时的文化传播与普及起了很大的作用。
Shandong in the Ming Dynasty to adapt to the popular custom and the imperial examination needs, has set up a wide range of social science.
