In September 2004, Jiangsu Taicang Special Function New Material Industrialization Base was approved as a state-level special industrial base by the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology. In the past year, a batch of high-tech enterprises with special features and new materials and related industries have been cultivated. There are 20 existing enterprises in the base, including 2 national high-tech enterprises, 10 provincial-level high-tech enterprises, 2 new products and 15 provincial-level high-tech products. In terms of special function and new materials, it has implemented 5 national torch plans and 4 provincial torch plans.
