Lucien Simon (186-1945), born in Paris a few years prior to the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, died a few weeks after the end of the Second World War. When he was young, he learned solid classical education at Louise Le Grand High School in Paris. After studying preparatory classes at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, he was hesitant about which subject to choose from. His family originally did not intend to engage him in the arts. However, as a physician, a father with scientific and philosophical thoughts, and a mother with a family of businessmen and jurists, the artistic literary ambitions of his son’s childhood are not discouraged.
