The building of a contingent of party members is an important part of the party’s grassroots organizations and also the basis for the entire party’s work and combat effectiveness. Our party has more than 57 million members and is distributed among 3.45 million grass-roots party organizations in all fields, including all walks of life in rural areas, enterprises, streets, schools, agencies and forces. The majority of party members shoulder the great responsibility of implementing the party’s line, principles and policies, implementing the party’s resolutions, taking the lead and bringing the masses to participate in the reform and opening up as well as the socialist modernization drive; and play a role as a bridge and link between the party and the masses. Each party member’s quality, role play, are directly related to the party’s image among the people, relates to the party’s cohesion and combat effectiveness, relates to the party’s governing foundation is consolidated.
