In modern England, the high concentration of land ownership and the high development of tenancy system are the ancient feudal historical heritage and the special case of historical development, which are not in conformity with the general law of agricultural economic development. In the course of the twentieth century, Britain gradually moved toward a land-for-agriculture model. After entering the modern industrial society, the dispersion of land ownership caused by the reform of farmland by farmers has the potential to lead to the re-development of the tenancy system in order to promote the expansion of agricultural production. The traditional tenancy system is the result of a highly concentrated ownership of land while the new tenancy system is the result of the fragmentation of land ownership.
