生物技术的开发研究已成为当前世界上新的技术革命的重要内容。科学家们预言,生物技术将对人类的经济活动产生巨大的影响。生物技术(Biotechnology),亦称生物工程(Bioegineering),目前还没有一个公认的定义。我国把生物技术的内容定为四个工程,即基因工程、细胞工程、酶工程和发酵工程。而欧美、日本等国家则以基因工程为主,但其研究项目涉及的面也很广。至于FAO/IAEA联合处所提出的生物技术及其协作项目则别具特色。
The research and development of biotechnology has become an important part of the new technological revolution in the world at present. Scientists predict that biotechnology will have a huge impact on human economic activity. Biotechnology, also known as Bioegineering, does not currently have a well-accepted definition. China’s biotechnology content as four projects, namely genetic engineering, cell engineering, enzyme engineering and fermentation engineering. While Europe, the United States, Japan and other countries are mainly genetic engineering, but its research project involves a wide range. The biotechnology and collaborative projects proposed by the Joint FAO / IAEA Division are unique.
