1982年3月10日,长沙县在修缮杨开慧烈士故居板仓杨家老屋时,从杨开慧卧室后墙的砖缝中,发现了她写于1928年10月至1929年6月间的手稿7篇。其中有两封没有发出的信,是她在被捕前写给堂弟杨开明的。2003年11月14日,是杨开慧烈士英勇就义73周年,捧读手迹,无限追思,兹择录一封,作为凭吊。信的全文如下:一九二九年三月给一弟的信(没有发出去)一弟:亲爱的一弟!我是一个弱者,仍然是一个弱者!好像永远不能强悍起来!我蜷伏着
