和谐社会是中国特色社会主义发展的必然要求,符合我国社会主义建设的实践。党中央在十六届四中全会提出建设社会主义和谐社会的伟大任务,这是党在新形势下提出的一个新课题。社会主义和谐社会的理论源泉是唯物史观;社会主义和谐社会的发展动力也是唯物史观,同时,唯物史观也决定了和谐社会的发展方向是实现人的全面发展。
A harmonious society is an inevitable requirement for the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics and is in keeping with the practice of socialist construction in our country. The Party Central Committee put forward the great task of building a harmonious socialist society at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee. This is a new issue put forward by the party under the new situation. The theoretical source of socialist harmonious society is historical materialism. The driving force for the development of a harmonious socialist society is also the historical materialism. At the same time, historical materialism also determines that the direction for the development of a harmonious society is to realize the all-round development of man.
