目前一些发达国家对不少的矿种实行了无岩芯钻进,即利用物化探资料进行数学统计分析,求得地质体的物性参数,并以此部份取代、甚至完全取代有岩芯钻进。苏联卡拉套磷块岩矿床从普查、勘探直到采矿、选矿都采用了能谱分析方法。他们找出了γ射线强度与P_2O_5的内在关系,据以确定磷的品位(区域的、矿层的、矿石的、精矿的)。实践证明这种方法完全可以满足生产要求。
