中国铝业股份有限公司击败10家国际竞标者,成为一个价值29亿澳元(合22亿美元)铝土矿开发项目的首选企业,有望成为在澳大利亚进行最大一笔海外投资的中国企业。澳大利亚昆士兰州州长彼得·贝蒂3月2日表示,已邀请中国铝业提交最终标书。这个铝土矿开发项目位于昆士兰州北部偏远的奥鲁昆地区。中国铝业竞标成功之处在于,制定了一项在3年内雇用3800名建筑工人的计划,其中700人将负责在奥鲁昆建设一座采矿和洗矿厂。奥鲁昆铝土矿质量被认为不及澳大利亚其他矿区。
Chinalco beat 10 international bidders to become a preferred company for a 2.9 billion Australian dollar (2.2 billion U.S. dollars) bauxite development project and is expected to become the largest Chinese company making the largest overseas investment in Australia. Australia’s Queensland Governor Peter Betty said on March 2 that it has invited Chalco to submit the final bid. This bauxite development is located in the remote Oruchong area of northern Queensland. The success of Alcoa’s bid was that it had a plan to hire 3,800 construction workers within 3 years, of whom 700 would be responsible for building a mining and washing plant in Orugun. The quality of bauxite in Orugum is not considered to be as good as that of other Australian mines.
