贵州多山,素有“八山一水一分田”之说,是全国唯一没有平原支撑的省份。正是这种高原山地的地貌,形成境内乌江流域地势高差大、切割强的特点,有利于水电开发。华电贵州乌江水电开发有限责任公司(简称乌江公司)构皮滩发电厂(简称构皮滩电厂或构电)位于贵州省中部遵义市余庆县境内的乌江干流中游,是乌江公司在乌江干流上开发的第5个梯级水电站,总装机容量3000兆瓦(5×600兆瓦),目前是贵州省、中国华电集团公司已建最大的水电厂。
