当今是一个信息的时代,信息素养已成为大学生必须具备的基本素质。在高等教育中,要培养出时代发展的高素质人才,提高大学生的信息素质,在高校教育占据重要位置。而在对大学生信息素质的培养过程中,高校图书馆以其自身的特点与功能,决定了它不可替代的地位和作用。信息素质是大学生培养的必然,但现代大学生存在信息知识薄弱、信息意识不强、信息能力较低、忽视信息道德的培养等问题。对于大学生信息素质,图书馆责无旁贷,图书馆有丰富的信息资源,为大学生信息素质培养提供了物质基础和学习氛围,另外,大学图书馆工作人员也是大学生信息素质培养的引导者。
