20世纪70年代,于天佑根据自己多年的演奏经验,率先对少数民族乐器“葫芦丝”进行了大胆改革,设计制作出了双主音管、四副管、六管葫芦丝,并在改革后的葫芦丝基础上又进行了加键试验,从而创造出了“17度、六管全音葫芦丝”。2010年,这件改革葫芦丝的第三代产品在于天佑先生去世一年后终于诞生了。这件乐器可以说是融进了于天佑先生多项专利技术和刘震先生的多项发明。该乐器制作人刘震说:当我接到这件乐器的制作任务时心情非常特殊,因为于老师是我们大家的良师益友,是葫芦丝大家,是对葫芦丝事业有着特殊贡献的先驱者……能够完成他的遗愿并加以完善,对我们乐器工作者来说是极大的挑战和肯定。乐器在研发试制过程中特别要感谢于天佑老师的多位得意弟子承德姚奇峰老师南京焦胜辉老师等人给予的大力支持,更要感谢中国民管会葫芦丝专业委员会秘书长何维清老师的大力支持与鼓励。——作者
