Based on Hymes ’communicative folklore and Giles’ theory of communicative adaptation, this essay, based on the perspective of linguistic communication, Gender Differences in Discourse Style. The results showed that in the first communication, both men and women are no longer tied to the gender prototype, will take the initiative to adapt to each other’s communicative behavior and communication style. From this we can conclude that the more communicators are to adapt to the situation of verbal communication, the less limited to the gender prototype, more flexibility, and thus more communicative and communicative purposes.
