The essence of stress testing method for controlling fractured rock mass and the basis for testing stress of rock mass by controlled fracturing method are clarified. The principle of drilling layout and the calculation method of original rock stress for controlling fracturing are introduced. The problems that should be paid attention to in controlling the stress of fractured rock mass are discussed.
