Although adjuvant chemotherapy reduces the recurrence rate in patients with stage III colon cancer, published guidelines do not specify the start of chemotherapy. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the timing of adjuvant chemotherapy initiation and disease recurrence and survival in patients undergoing resection of stage III colon cancer. Jeong et al. Enrolled 133 patients with stage III colon cancer who underwent surgical resection between February 2004 and December 2009. Of the 27 patients (20.3%) who started adjuvant chemotherapy within 3 weeks after surgery, 106 patients (79.7%) started adjuvant chemotherapy 3 weeks after the end of surgery. The results showed that patients who started adjuvant chemotherapy within 3 weeks after the end of surgery had started 3 weeks after the end of surgery
