2008年11月10日,廖承枫先进事迹报告会在武汉武昌洪山礼堂隆重举行。会前,省委书记、省人大常委会主任罗清泉亲切接见了报告团成员并与他们合影留念。他说,廖承枫同志是一名最基层的社区民警,多年默默无闻、勤勤恳恳地为民服务,在平凡的岗位上作出了突出贡献。当前正值深入开展学习实践科学发展观活动,廖承枫同志的先进事迹为学习实践活动提供了鲜活教材。他强调,廖承枫精神,不仅政法系统要开展学习,全省都要大力开展学习。廖承枫是京山县公安局新市派出所三角洲社区一名普通民警。他3次直面枪口,4次赤手空拳与持刀歹徒搏斗,破案不计其数,他还无私资助56户困难家庭,为300多名贫困居民找工作,引导69名失足青少年改邪归正。廖承枫先后荣获“全国公安系统二级英雄模范”、“第十二届中国青年五四奖章标兵”、“全国特级优秀人民警察”等荣誉称号。报告会上,报告团的几位成员,分别从不同侧面介绍了廖承枫同志的感人事迹。省直机关干部、政法系统干警和高校学生1000余人听取了报告。

He faced the muzzle three times, waged four unarmed fights with knives and criminals and solved countless incidents. He also selflessly funded 56 poor families, sought jobs for more than 300 poor residents, and led 69 fatigued youngsters to correct their mistakes. Liao Chengfeng has won the honorary title of “Model Hero of the Second Class of the National Public Security System”, “Model Award of the 12th China Youth May Fourth Medal,” “National Excellent Police Excellent People” and so on. At the report conference, several members of the report delegation separately introduced the moving stories of Comrade Liao Chengfeng from different aspects. Provincial organs and cadres, political and legal system, police and college students heard more than 1,000 people report.
