上海弄堂是上海人对里弄的称呼,是上海特有的居民形式,它既不同于传统的中国江南民居,也不同于任何一种西方的建筑形式。然而,它又总是既或多或少地带有中国传统建筑的痕迹,又或多或少地带有外来的建筑影响。弄堂,构成了近代城市最重要的建筑特色;构成了千万普通上海人最常见的生活空间。它最能代表近代上海城市文化的特征,弄堂里的这些海报也给里弄增添了色彩,它也是近代上海历史最直接的产物。
