A science and technology should serve the economic construction, especially for solving the key issues of great economic benefit in the national economy. The task now is to give a better play to the role of science and technology so that it can truly become a powerful productive force and truly become a huge force for promoting economic development. In order to give full play to the role of science and technology in the national economy, we must grasp well the promotion and application of existing scientific and technological achievements and organize the transfer of science and technology from laboratory to production. This is an important task that Premier Zhao Ziyang has put forward to us in the “Report on the Current Economic Situation and the Guidelines for Economic Construction in the Future.”
