2-Acetylthiophene (2-acetylthiophene) is an important raw material for the synthesis of other thiophene derivatives and pharmaceutical pioneer cephalosporins. This review summarizes the synthesis of 2-acetylthiophene and its application in the synthesis of other useful chemicals.
