在网络建设和管理中,如果2个相连设备端口的速率和双工通信设置不一致,网络性能不仅不会提高,反而会导致严重下降。这一现象的典型例子发生在某医院的局域网。该医院的网管人员反映信息中心的一台服务器在被网上其他站点访问时速度很慢,拷贝一个30MB的文件长达5-6分钟时间,而该服务器配置了100Mbps的网卡,交换机是10/100Mbps自适应型,服务器的负载也不大,不应该有如此低的网络性能。对于这种故障,只有通过网络测试仪器才能发现。
