The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other agencies recently released a report that from 2004 to 2008, the United States all-cause cancer death rate dropped by an average of 1.6% per year, continuing the downward trend since the 1990s. The National Cancer State of the Year report was jointly completed by researchers from the National Institute for Disease Control and Prevention, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society.
