The Paraguayan News is a 2004 novel by the contemporary American writer Lily Tucker. The book describes the love story between Paraguayan dictator Franco Lopez and his Irish mistress Ela Lynch in the mid-nineteenth century in a unique language, exquisite structure, magnificent scene and epic momentum. Ella Lynch came to Paraguay as lover Franco to represent Patriarchal culture. Her beauty, cultivation, life and the European culture she represented have had a great cultural impact on Paraguay, which was then closed.
