汾阳县见喜乡近几年来种植高粱面积1万亩左右,主要品种为晋杂4号,品质好,产量高,深受群众欢迎。但是1985年有不少地块出现了枝穗(高粱上部歧生出来的穗子),少者每株1—2穗,多者每株4—5穗,严重地影响了产量。根据科技人员在见喜乡北庄村调查,该村1985年种植高粱613亩,其中枝穗211亩,占高粱总面积的34.3%。我们具体调查了相邻的两块高粱地,品种(晋杂4号)相同而施肥时间不同,结果枝穗多少、产量高低也不同。一块由于三肥一齐施,促进了壮苗,增强抗逆性,提高小花结实率,所以到天旱时已形成了正常的主穗,后期很少有枝穗,亩产高粱400公斤。另一块是苗期追肥,因前期天旱时没有发挥出肥
