现场报道是电视新闻的重要体裁之一。电视台记者在新闻事件现场直接向观众口头报道正在发生的新闻事实的报道样式,称为现场报道。它是由记者“采摄合一”向“采摄分离”发展,记者直接“出镜头”——在镜头前采访这是最富有电视特点的一种报道形式。在西方,现场报道意思为“在镜头前报道”,或“站着报道”。广义的现场报道包括凡是使用电子新闻采集设备,记者进入现场画面而作的报道,如现场直播、现场采访、现场口头播报等皆是;狭义的现场报道专指记者在新闻事件现场进入画面,根据自己的观察,当场口述自己所见所闻,直接将新闻事实报道给观众。
