Morning blood pressure surge is a predictor of cardiovascular events. However, the determinants of the morning surge in blood pressure are unclear, especially the impact of racial differences on their levels. This study examined whether there is a difference in morning blood pressure levels among hypertensive patients in Japan and Western Europe. METHODS: According to the same inclusion criteria, 2887 (62.3 ± 8.8) years of age included in the ambulatory blood pressure monitoring database of Europe and 811 patients with (72.3 ± 9.8) years of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring database at the Autonomous Medical University of Japan were untreated Blood pressure patients, analysis of 24h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring records, especially blood pressure morning peak conditions. Blood pressure morning peak is defined as 2h after wake up
