语言与文化密不可分。在英语学习的起始阶段,教师就应让学生对英语国家文化及中外文化的异同有粗略了解,并能激发学生学习英语的兴趣。为了给小学英语教师提供文化教学方面的素材,引导小学生初步了解英语国家的文化背景知识,我刊与《空中英语教室》合作,开辟了“文化长廊”栏目。该栏目的内容由两大部分组成:(1)与英语国家文化相关的背景知识介绍。这部分内容旨在为小学英语教师提供学习和理解英语国家文化背景知识的素材,培养教师的跨文化交际意识和能力。所选用的材料均由《空中英语教室》提供。(2)文化知识教学活动示例。这部分内容旨在介绍文化知识教学的具体方法,指导教师向学生渗透英语国家的文化背景知识;同时注重让学生在活动中不仅受到英语国家文化的熏陶,而且从中学到一些英语知识,初步形成得体地运用英语交际的能力。欢迎广大读者对该栏目提出宝贵意见。
Language and culture are inseparable. In the initial stage of English learning, teachers should give students a rough idea of similarities and differences between English-speaking cultures and Chinese and foreign cultures and stimulate their interest in learning English. In order to provide primary school English teachers with cultural and teaching materials and to guide primary school students to gain an initial understanding of the cultural background of English-speaking countries, I published a series of columns entitled “Cultural Corridor” in cooperation with “Air English Classroom”. The content of this section consists of two parts: (1) introduction of background knowledge related to English-speaking countries. This part aims to provide primary school English teachers with the material to learn and understand the cultural background of English-speaking countries and cultivate teachers’ awareness and ability of intercultural communication. Selected materials are provided by “Air English Classroom”. (2) Example of cultural knowledge teaching activities. This part of the content aims to introduce the specific methods of cultural knowledge teaching, instruct teachers to infiltrate the cultural background of English-speaking countries; at the same time, pay attention to letting students not only be influenced by the cultures of English-speaking countries, but also learn some English knowledge Appropriate use of English communication skills. Readers are welcome to put forward some valuable comments on this section.
