拉斯·史文德森看到了时尚消费中的文化悲剧,试图以新奇的符号价值构建一种个人认同,在快乐的感官体验中实现当下的自由。然而,在后现代消解的符号体系中,时尚终究无法担负起提升自我、构建个人认同的重担。这是存在主义在当今消费语境中的困境,也是对人性弱点的深刻痛击。在人性的褶皱处,史文德森的时尚哲学恰恰窥见了当代哲学的文化软肋,以时尚消费的狂欢和反乌托邦式的悲剧意义,解构又重构着当代人的存在方式。
Las Ventures saw the cultural tragedies in fashion consumption, attempting to construct a personal identity with novel symbolic values and realize the present freedom in a happy sensory experience. However, in the symbolic system of post-modern digestion, fashion can not afford the burden of self-improvement and personal identification. This is the dilemma of existentialism in today’s consumer context and a profound blow to human weakness. In the folds of human nature, Swindon’s philosophy of fashion just glimpses the cultural soft underbelly of contemporary philosophy, deconstructing and reconstructing the way of contemporary existence with the carnival of fashion consumption and the tragedy significance of dystopia.
