田纳西·威廉姆斯,是美国当代著名的现实主义剧作家,是在美国南方土生土长的作家。他的创作带有独有的风格特点,主要反映生活在美国南方本土特色与那里普通小众人物的生存窘境,突出展现出现实人物与现实世界之间的心里矛盾冲突。田纳西·威廉姆斯其创作风格独有的特色为二战后美国的剧坛增添了新的生命力,其代表作《玻璃动物园》、《热铁皮屋顶上的猫》以及《欲望号街车》等都体现了现实主义与象征主义戏剧融为一体的艺术特色。本文主要以《玻璃动物园》为例,对田纳西·威廉姆斯戏曲中的思想艺术特色进行研究分析。
Tennessee Williams, a contemporary American famous playwright, is a native writer in the South of the United States. His writing, with its unique style and characteristics, mainly reflects the dilemma of living in the unique characteristics of the southern United States and the ordinary minority people there, highlighting the contradictions between the real person and the real world. Tennessee Williams’s unique style of creation adds new vitality to the American theater after World War II. His works, such as “Glass Zoo”, “cat on a hot metal roof” and “A Streetcar Named Desire” The art of combining realism and symbolism plays together. This paper mainly takes “Glass Zoo” as an example to study and analyze the ideological and artistic features in the drama of Tennessee Williams.
