著名漫画家、美术活动家、新中国美术事业的奠基者和领导者之一,我们尊敬的华君武同志,于2010年6月13日在京逝世。我们对这位为中国美术事业做出重要贡献的优秀艺术家和领导者的离去深感悲痛。今天我们在这里缅怀他,相信他留下来的作品和他的作品闪耀着的精神之光会在今后中国美术事业发展中继续发扬光大。
One of the prominent cartoonists, art activists and one of the founders and leaders of the fine arts cause in New China, our distinguished Comrade Hua Junwu passed away in Beijing on June 13, 2010. We are deeply saddened by the departure of this outstanding artist and leader who made an important contribution to the Chinese art scene. Today we cherish him here, believing that the works he has left behind and the light of the shining spirit of his works will continue to flourish in the future development of Chinese fine arts.
