由于乌桕是深根性树种,起苗时要保持完整的根系比较困难,从而影响造林成活率。经几次调查,我县采用嫁接苗造林成活率最高只有85—90%,低的在20%以下,有部分达不到基地验收标准,因而挫伤了农民造林的积极性。另外,乌桕苗地切腹接产量不高,影响产苗单位的收入。为解决乌桕苗良种嫁接起苗困难与造林成活率不高的矛盾和提高产苗量,我县从1978年起开始进行起砧接试验。在取得经验的基础上,1979年在
