WHO has directly linked atypical pneumonia to severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and pointed out that SARS is now a global health threat and requires concerted efforts from around the world to identify the cause, treat patients and prevent their spread. SARS is a newly identified disease whose transmission has just begun to be discovered and is therefore difficult to interpret. Although great progress has been made in the characterization of pathogens and in powerful diagnostic tests, more information on the disease remains unclear. At present, world-class scientists and clinicians are working closely with WHO through the night and day to find answers and evidence on SARS issues to provide more accurate public health advice to countries with undiscovered and detected SARS cases in the world in order to take further Precautionary measures.
