在我国,大部分恶性肿瘤患者确诊时已为晚期或伴远处转移,目前单一化学治疗方法效果不理想,肿瘤常常会在短的时间内复发,这可能是由于化疗期间肿瘤细胞的加速再增殖所致。众所周知,若没有血液供应,肿瘤细胞由于缺血缺氧会发生死亡,肿瘤尺寸不会超过2~3 mm3。因此,在化疗间期肿瘤细胞加速再增殖过程中,给予抗血管生成治疗可抑制残存肿瘤细胞的再增殖,达到提高化疗药物治疗效果,延缓疾病进展的目的。
