巨峰葡萄是1937年日本大井上康用大粒康拜尔与森田尼杂交育成的四倍体品种。本品粒穗大粒大、抗病力强,耐贮运,产量高,是优良的鲜食品种。我区1979年由吴忠园艺场引进,生长结果表现良好。1985年～1986年这一品种在银川近郊农村大面积引进推广,初报如下; Kyoho grapes in 1937, Japan’s Daisenkang Kobayashi Kang Baier and Morita hybrids tetraploid breed.
