Fiber population structure We all know that there is a significant difference in the length of 10 million fibers in a seed. This difference can sometimes represent 98% of a field-wide harvest of all variations of a pure line, mainly due to the fact that the length of the seeds is not the same for different parts of the seed and the average length of the fibers is gradually reduced from the point of conjugation to the bead.
