Polycrystalline Ce_(0.95)Ca_(0.05)F_(2.95) was prepared by a conventional solid-state reaction. The heat stability and ion conductivity of Ce_(0.95)Ca_(0.05)F_(2.95) were investigated by a high temperature calorimeter and an ac impedance technique. Experimental results indicate that Ce_(0.95)Ca_(0.05)F_(2.95) is stable at temperatures below 1000 K and represents the ionic conductivity of 1×10~(-3) to 10~(-1) Ω~(-1)·cm~(-1) in temperature range of 660 to 1180 K.
