Mineral flotation is the most important mineral processing technology, but also a major achievement of mining technology since the turn of the century. The theory and application of flotation agent is the key technology and scientific basis of flotation. Professor Wang Dianzuo has long been engaged in flotation and flotation agent theory and application of research, outstanding results. He comprehensively applied the new achievements of surface chemistry, quantum chemistry, chemical thermodynamics, solution chemistry and organic structure theory to analyze and summarize a large amount of data and classify the factors that affect the structure and performance of the flotation agent scientifically. According to the theoretical analysis and calculation, the mechanism of flotation agent is discussed quantitatively at the atomic-electron level for the first time, and the inherent rules of the relationship between the structure and performance of the agent are revealed
