美国空军2月29日宣布,由欧洲航空防务和航天公司(EADS)、美国诺思罗普·格鲁曼公司联合研制的A330MRTT空中加油机。在KC-X空中加油机替换计划中胜出,定名为KC-45。在未来15~20年时间里,美国空军初步计划定购179架KC-45,用以替换20世纪50年代研制的KC-135空中加油机,合同总金额超过350亿美元。一贯秉承“美械美造”宗旨的美国、将数额如此巨大的军事采购订单交由欧洲承包商完成,在此之前还从未出现过。新飞机预计在2010年开始试飞,2013年正式服役。
The U.S. Air Force announced on February 29 that the A330MRTT tanker aircraft, jointly developed by European Aeronautic Defense and Space Corporation (EADS) and Northrop Grumman Corporation of the United States, KC-X air refueling in the replacement plan to win, named KC-45. In the next 15 to 20 years, the U.S. Air Force initially plans to purchase 179 KC-45s to replace the KC-135 air refueling tank developed in the 1950s with a total contract value of more than 35 billion U.S. dollars. The United States, which consistently adheres to the principle of “making beautiful art and making beautiful products,” has never given such a huge amount of military procurement orders to European contractors before. The new aircraft is scheduled to begin its test flight in 2010 and officially serve in 2013.
