In 1966 - the hotel where the convoy participating in the Tour de France was raided was drug-raided and drivers rode to protest. In 1967, Tom Simpson, a British driver, died suddenly during the race. His death was considered to be due to over-medication. 1968 - Systemic drug test procedure was established; 1978 - Cyclist Bollottel was found to have had hands and feet swamped and he was deported; 1988 - Cyclone Delgado tested Positive, although he was taking the drug by the International Olympic Committee as a ban on drugs, but not in the International Bicycle Federation’s ban on drugs list. Delgado was allowed to continue playing and won the championship; 1997 - In order to prevent drivers taking ZPO, Tour de France began to use blood tests;
