On November 17, 1998, Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Baosteel Group) was established with Baosteel Iron & Steel (Group) Company as the mainstay and Shanghai Metallurgical Holding (Group) Company and Shanghai Meishan (Group) Company jointly established. In the past six years since the joint reorganization, Baosteel gave full play to its combined advantages in overall planning, readjustment of product structure, promotion of scientific and technological progress, strengthened management in an all-round way, speed up technological innovation and build a fine steel product.
