澳门爆竹业是澳门近代经济发展过程中出现的“龙头老大”式的支柱产业,在澳门经济发展中,有着极为重要的影响。它起源于19世纪60年代,至1941年太平洋战争爆发时,该产业全部歇业停止生产,经历了兴起、发展、中衰、恢复发展及走向繁荣的全过程。全面系统深入地研究澳门爆竹业发展的历史,对于深化认识澳门经济史有着十分重要的意义。更为重要的是,它为澳门这座赌城历史上出现的“经济多元化”提供了一个生动的案例。
The firecracker industry in Macao is a pillar industry that has emerged in the process of modern economic development in Macao and plays an extremely important role in the economic development of Macao. It originated in the 1860s. By the time of the Pacific War broke out in 1941, the industry all stopped production and went through the process of rising, developing, deteriorating, restoring and prospering. A comprehensive and systematic study of the history of the firecracker industry in Macao is of great significance for deepening understanding of the economic history of Macao. More importantly, it provides a vivid example of the “economic diversification” that has emerged in the history of Macau.
