天津市河西区现有的三十几条主要道路,除了一小部分为水泥混凝土、柏油路面和几条水结、泥结石碴路面外,绝大部分都是低级路面。几年来,河西区人民委员会根据就地取材的原则,利用天津工厂的工业废品——炉碴,对这些低级路面进行了改善,防止了雨后泥泞影响交通的现象。炉碴路面所用的材料是工厂动力部的煤焦,将其中的大块除去,选用2公分以下的粒料,再掺合一定的砂质粘土(不允许掺有一公分以上的黄土块,原路基如土质较好也可利用)。炉碴路面的施工分下列几个步骤:1、挖路床——按事先所订的椿橛放线,挖深20公分,将挖起的土块用木榔头打碎,过3/4?眼筛后、分置于道路两旁。接着开始
