1953年下半年,正当全国人民在中国共产党领导下开始进行大规模经济建设的关键时刻,党内却发生了高岗、饶漱石阴谋分裂党和国家最高权力的事件。高岗、饶漱石利用刘少奇和周恩来等党和国家领导人在工作中出现的一些缺点和错误,散布谣言,制造混乱,打击别人,抬高自己,妄图达到篡夺党和国家最高权力的目的。这是建国以来党内出现的第一次重大斗争。在这次斗争中,周恩来同刘少奇一起成为被攻击的主要对象,在巨大的政治压力下,经受了建国以来第一次重大的政治磨难和严峻的政治考验。《周恩来与高饶事件》一文,翔实、客观地记述了高饶如何攻击周恩来以及周恩来如何同高饶进行斗争的过程,很有史料价值。
In the second half of 1953, just as the people of the entire country started to carry out large-scale economic construction under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, there emerged Gao Gang and Rao Shu-shih’s conspiracy to split the supremacy of the party and the country. This is the first major struggle in the party that has taken place since the founding of the People’s Republic. In this struggle, Zhou Enlai and Liu Shaoqi became the main targets of attacks. Under the enormous political pressure, Zhou Enlai has withstood the first major political hardship and severe political tests since the founding of the People’s Republic. The article “Zhou Enlai and Gao Rao Incident” fully and objectively describes how Gao Rao attacked Zhou Enlai and how Zhou Enlai struggled with Gao Rao. It is of historical value.
