Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) was used to detect the apolipoprotein E (ApoE) genotypes in 131 healthy controls and 131 coronary heart disease patients. Effect of plasma lipids and lipoprotein levels. The results showed that the ApoE allele had a significant regulatory effect on blood lipids, the ApoE4 allele had the effect of increasing total cholesterol (TC) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), while the ApoE2 allele had the opposite effect , ApoeE4 average elevated TC about 0.32 ~ 0.58mmol / L; ApoE2 average reduction of TC about 0.34 ~ 0.61mmol / L, suggesting that ApoE allele led to significant differences in the level of blood lipid among individuals.
