《新中华报》的前身是中共中央1931年创办于瑞金的首份机关报《红色中华》,1941年改组为《解放日报》。《新中华报》副刊《青年呼声》上的曲词歌调,富有鲜明的时代特征和通俗的传唱歌调,在内容上,呼吁广大青年担负起救亡图存的重任,团结御敌、抗战到底,同时,反映春耕、民选、支前等边区建设活动;在形式上,充分吸收陕北民歌及其他地方戏曲的曲调音谱,赋予其时代特征。《青年呼声》的曲词歌调在内容、形式方面揭开了1942年延安文艺规定的创造具有中国作风中国气派作品的序幕。
