Hamstring strains are common in sport,yet can be a difficult problem for athletes and sports medicine specialists to deal with,primarily because there is a high rate of recurrent injury.There is new evidence to help guide the sports medicine specialist’s rehabilitation of an athlete with a hamstring strain,as well to guide the development of an effective injury prevention program.Acute hamstring strains are common in sports that involve sprinting,kicking and high-speed skilled movements.Numerous studies have shown that hamstring strains are one of the most common injuries in sprinting sports,soccer,rugby and Australian rules football.
