铜陵有色金属公司狮子山铜矿西狮子山矿段Ⅱ～Ⅴ号盲矿体,矿岩坚固稳定,地质构造简单,不易冒落。矿体赋存标高为+42～-216m。1975年7月狮子山铜矿用空场法采完-40m中段以上矿体(包括矿柱)后,形成了23万m~3的空区,继而提出了用暂留矿石垫层的崩落采矿法回采下部矿体。1979年起,狮子山铜矿与马鞍山矿山研究院合作,后又邀请中国人民解放军89002部队参加,开展了暂留
